PCB & Mechanical Design Engineer

Based: Nashville Tennessee, USA

Reporting to: CEO, Lead Designer

Conditions: Full-time, salaried / US Work Visa Approved

Responsibilities - PCB Designer:

• Perform all PCB layout design activities including schematic review, part library creation, component placement, routing, and Gerber generation

• Create, modify, and maintain part libraries based on component datasheets and drawings

• Create PCB design package including Gerber, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings and other design les for PCB fabrication and PCB assembly

Key Qualifications and Experiences:

• Experience with both analog and digital PCB design

• High speed, high density and analog PCB design and layout experience

• Experience with EMI/EMC requirement for PCB design

• Knowledge of Altium PCB design tools

• Competent in reading schematics and using schematics as layout reference

Person specification:

• Highly focused and self-motivated

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to see assignments through to completion with minimal direction. 

Responsibilities - Mechanical Engineer Design:

• Computer aided design/modeling using Solid Works and/or Fusion 360

• Design of user panels and assemblies that interact with electronic components and PCBs

• Selecting, managing, and sourcing materials.

• Ensuring designs meet environmental and thermal requirements and testing.

• Building prototypes, creating build documentation, and generating assembly drawings.

• Wiring harness drawings and documentation.

• Generating BOMs and build instructions.

• Entering and managing BOM data in our MRP system. 

Key Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of industrial design experience.

• 3D CAD experience, ideally in Solid Works.

• Good understanding of modern manufacturing processes and tooling methods.

• Experience in designing with thermal and environmental considerations.

• Ability to understand complex mechanical systems and drawings.

• Knowledge of graphic software like Illustrator.

• Excellent le management revision control skills.

• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and concepts is desirable.

• Basic electronics knowledge is desirable.

• 3D Printing knowledge and techniques is desirable.

• An interest in audio and/or music is desirable.

• Attention to detail and excellent organizational and communication skills.

• High level of technical competence coupled with strong problem-solving skills.

• Proactive attitude, highly focused, and self-motivated.

• Capable of working in a team or as an individual with minimum supervision

• Able to understand complex systems and break them down to the fundamental elements.

• Able to prioritize and multitask in a logical manner
